Tata Nano in showrooms from April 1

New Delhi: Ratan Tata’s vehicle for the aam aadmi (common man) will be on display in showrooms from April 1.

The top-end variant of the car will be on show at dealerships across the country and dealers expect maximum bookings. The booking process is open from April 9 to April 25.

A draw of lots by the second week of May will decide who will be the proud owners of the car. The delivery of the car will be by the first week of July.

The people’s car is available in three models.

With a host of people queuing up to have a glimpse of the car, some aspiring owners, including women, were seen test driving.

Officials of K B Motors at Ballygunj Phanri said the dealers had received the premium or LX version of the car, priced at Rs 1.84 lakh ex-showroom in Kolkata.

”About 600-700 people have so far thronged our showroom since

eleven in the morning, ” he said.

The dealers had started selling the booking forms since the last two days and each one had sold over 300 forms so far.
